Tacchino Luigi - Piemonte (Italy)

Castelletto d'Orba is located to the west of Gavi. Here, some of the best Barbera and Dolcetto wines that the Piedmont region has to offer are made. The Tacchino estate is situated on the border of the Monferrato and Gavi appellations. While in Alba (Barolo and Barbaresco), Nebbiolo is the absolute king, here grapes such as Barbera and Dolcetto receive the same royal treatment and, above all, come from the best vineyards, making them often superior to their namesakes from the Alba region. For more than three generations, the Tacchino family has been producing high-quality wines here. Today, Alessio and Romina run the estate, which they took over from their father Luigi. In the prestigious vineyards of Monferrato, they produce top wines under the appellations of Dolcetto d'Ovada, Barbera del Monferrato, and Gavi di Gavi. Their loving and expert craftsmanship can be tasted in every bottle of wine that leaves the estate.

Deep, dark color tending to purple. In the nose we find a lot of ripe fruit of cherries, blackberries, mon cheri and hints of violet and red flowers. On the palate, this lush but wonderfully mild character continues under the guidance of fine and soft tannins. Long, juicy finale that makes you irresistibly want more.
